Yah's Promises to Abraham - 7

I am continuing our look at the seven promises to Abraham about his progeny. In the orginal FTPD blog I listed out all seven promises as listed in the book "The Fall and Redemption of Adam's Race" written by Lawrence Blanchard. I have already shown that the seventh, the land promise, was fulfilled and that it is mute after that point (Joshua 21:43-45). As for the other six promises, we can see these fulfilled in the characteristics of the descended peoples known as Christian Israelites.

6. Abraham's descendants would possess the gate of their enemies.

And your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies. – Genesis 22:17

I laid foundation in last week's submission of FTPD for this very characteristic. This one can be more difficult to identify as we, as the covenant people of God, have shown such disobedience to the Word. I believe, strongly, that we are under a curse as a people. I believe that we need Joshua's to stand up and proclaim the message of repentance and covenant renewal once again; thusly, we have trouble seeing this fulfillment as the enemies of Israel have infiltrated our borders in all of our kindred nations and have integrated into our lives and even families.

With this said you can still look throughout the last 2,000 years and see where we have been more obedient and see the hand of God directing us in this blessed characteristic given to Abraham's descendants.

But, I believe that we need to look at the curse that has become obvious in our country today:

Deuteronomy 28:36 (KJV) 36 YHWH shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.

Deuteronomy 28:41 (KJV) 41 Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.

Deuteronomy 28:32 (KJV) 32 Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand.

Deuteronomy 28:43-44 (KJV) 43 The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low. 44 He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail. This is in absolute contradiction to Yahweh's will for Abraham's descendants, but this is the result of not being obedient to Yahweh.

Note the passage about our seed being given into captivity! The promise to Abraham is that his seed would "possess the gate of their enemies", not be in captivity to them!

We can look in this country alone and see where this has definitely occurred. That doesn't mean that Yahweh isn't faithful to his promises as individually we see that he is. Many of us live in the promise and have found refuge in the Christ during this captivity. In there we have enjoyed many of the blessings promised to Abraham's descendants, but still as a whole we need Joshua to stand up and declare:

Joshua 24:14-15 (KJV) 14 Now therefore fear YHWH, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye YHWH. 15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve YHWH, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve YHWH.

I would love to see men stand up and begin to declare this message! This would definitely bring America and our brothers' nations into better standing before Yahweh God.

2 Chronicles 7:14-15 (KJV) 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 15 Now mine [YHWH] eyes shall be open, and mine [YHWH] ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

I hope that over the past few weeks you have read something that will encourage you to study these things that I have presented out.
